Having been ill for over 10 days & still recovering, I thought to myself to be in the gym & focus on strength & conditioning. Got back to endurance work & started off with a run & felt so heavy & lead footed. Spoke to my #supportcrew aka silv3rglee & she felt I looked bigger. I felt it too. Thought a lot about what I had been doing & made a conscious decision that going forward I'd like to focus on pure lifting in the off season, while during race season work with bodyweight, the TRX & of course strengthening that core, which is a constant work in progress for me. The only addition would be to add in some weights when working on the legs. The aim is trying to be lean, have the power & endurance in the legs & be as light as possible. Any advice would be appreciated. Any opinions? So many girls do peak week wrong.....I know this because when I do consultations with athletes I always ask them what their previous peak week consisted of....and too often I am SHOCKED! Small "water loads", no sodium from 10 days out, dirty carb ups the night before the show, pancakes for breakfast on comp morning.....and they get on stage looking SOFT and wonder why! . Increasing my running distance to condition myself for #airassault . Also this was my first run here AND pushing both girls in my double stroller! Holy cow how I managed a 10min mile pushing that much weight on inclines and declines is beyond me. But my weight will start at 15lb since I have a weighted vest then grow 15lb every 3wk and starting at 4miles then keep increasing every other week by 1/2-mile until I'm at 45lb and 12miles. Lake Tahoe is 11miles round super excited for this training and location. #army #fitmama #running #conditioning

ALL IN! I am putting an absurd amount of time into making a program that high school athletes can stick with all year long, regardless of whether or not they are in or out of season. High school athletes, especially those at smaller schools, play multiple sports. It doesn't make sense to get into a "soccer program," a "basketball program," and then a "track program." Leave the sport specific training for the sport head coach during pre-season and season practices. In terms of improving strength, power, and athleticism, it makes much more sense to STICK WITH A PROGRAM. That's what this program allows for. I will offer up the fourth quarter of the 2019 - 2020 program for those interested in getting after it ASAP. It begins January 15th, 2020. The full 2020 - 2021 program will be available for pre-sale on April 6th. Years of high school athletics, college football experience, earning my Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification and ACE personal training certification, teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology, and spending hundreds of hours training clients in person have led to the development of this program. This is a program that I WISH I HAD WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL. Trust me, if I didn't believe in the value of this, I wouldn't be pushing it. Today is my last energy system training that pclarkatc from byndstrength made for me, I successfully survived (no puking, nor my legs seizing up)... even though I made slight modifications to it since I started a bit later than I should, I am extremely happy with how I feel right now! 10 days out, I made a lower weight class than I was aiming for -194.5lbs for tapcancerout, now it’s just running down the clock till the weigh in. This will be my first BJJ competition and I’m excited to compete in a different sport and hopefully it will give me the same fulfillment as Rugby and Kickboxing did when I was back in Romania!!! 25 min run finished just cause I was wearing this hoodie! Sometimes we all need a little extra motivation. . With the arrival of the first appreciable snow of the season and some chilly weather, I wasn't the most fired up about getting out there to do my outside cardio. . Fortunately, my sidekick, The Sophie, seemed to sense that The Streak (240+ straight days of outdoor cardio) was in jeopardy and was extra antsy to get out there. . Unlike me, she loves the snow and it proved impossible to stay in a grumpy mood while she frolicked and danced around, kicking up little puffs and biting at the mini snowbanks. . At the end? Happy dog, happy me, Streak alive. . The lesson? Build some safeguards into your life to help keep you going strong on your journey when your motivation wanes... because it will. . My favorite thing about this is that it isn’t over photoshopped and Joe didn’t have to create muscles or definition with tricks of the trade, ie, bs shadowing. This is what Amber looks like. There were no tricks to show her conditioning, just hard ass work! Looking forward to seeing the other shots! For competitors, Joe was great to work with.
