The evolution of the IPhone! 📱😂 Okay but on a serious note here 🤗 This is two years of progress 💪. Have I been 100% perfect on my journey? Heck no 😜. Y’all know last weekend I scarfed down a bag of Japanese doughnuts 🍩. However, this has been a weight loss/ positive mental shift that I’ve been able to maintain for 2 years now. And that’s pretty damn cool if I do say so myself 😎. I’ve had my fair share of plateaus, but what keeps me going is my lifestyle change. Working out has become an important part of my routine as well as packing my lunches and making dinners with my husband. These routines are the fundamental basis for my success 🙏. 💥 Habits 💥 . . When I ask what people struggle with the most when it comes to losing weight, a very common answer is ‘motivation,’ or a lack of it more like. . . To which I reply, ‘motivation is great but it comes and goes. You can never be 100% motivated all the time. Building habits is what keeps you consistent long enough to see results and start to live a healthier lifestyle.’ . . This brings me to a couple of extracts from the book I’m currently reading; Atomic Habits by James Clear. I must say that even though I’m only a few chapters in, I highly recommend this book, but this chapter in particular was about stacking habits. Basically adding a new behavior to a habit you already do, as shown in the examples I’ve circled. . . Now it’s over to you. Take a look at these examples, have a good think and write down what new healthy behaviors you can stack onto already existing habits you do every day. Keep them simple and start right away. Shrimp Salad With Creamy Avocado Dressing 🥑  Full recipe below, send it to a friend who’d love this!⁣ By: Joey Firoben and Tasty Ingredients (for 6 servings) 1 lb shrimp (455 g), peeled and deveined 2 tablespoons oil salt, to taste black pepper, to taste 2 teaspoons dried oregano 1 large head romaine lettuce, chopped 1 ½ cups cherry tomato (300 g), halved 1 orange bell pepper, diced AVOCADO DRESSING 2 tablespoons lime, juiced ⅔ cup water (160 mL) 1 ripe avocado ½ cup full-fat greek yogurt (140 g) salt, to taste black pepper, to taste Preparation Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). In a medium bowl, drizzle the shrimp with oil, salt, pepper, and oregano. Toss until the shrimp are evenly coated. Transfer the shrimp to a roasting tray and spread into one even layer. Roast for 6 minutes, until the shrimp have just turned pink. For the dressing, place the lime juice, water, avocado, Greek yogurt, salt, and pepper in a blender and blend until smooth. Set aside. In a large serving bowl, toss the romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, bell pepper, and shrimp until well combined. Transfer the salad to serving bowls and drizzle on the avocado dressing. I still can’t believe it’s November and I actually stuck to this journey y’all. In February I knew this time things were different and that I would stick to this. I didn’t expect to lose as much as I have. I figured a 100 in a year sounds reasonable. Something just got into me I said nope I’m doing that before 6 months. Now it’s November I’m down 160 pounds this year all naturally by eating healthy focusing more on low Carbs and high protein and staying in a calorie deficit along with doing Bootcamp 5-6x a week. Even if I just have 30 minutes I’m working out it’s better than nothing. . The hard thing about fat loss is that you often have to forgo instant gratification in food choices to achieve long-term success. You have to be willing to give up what you want NOW for a much bigger reward LATER. . 📣 to hooper.fit for original content. . You can’t negotiate MORE exercise for MORE food when you crush a Big Mac and fries for 1,000kcal in 5 minutes and it takes 2 hours of intense exercise to burn the same amount. Diet plays the greatest role in your weight loss efforts. If you’re overeating by 2,000 calories a day, you can move the needle on the scale a whole lot faster by simply not overeating than you can by exercising. That doesn't make dieting better than exercise. It means you had a really, really imbalanced diet to your activity level. And adjusting your diet should be the first step in fixing it. Diet and exercise doesn’t need to be an either/or proposition. If you care about your health and weight, you should strive to not overeat. Period. And if you want to optimize weight loss and your health, you should exercise regularly. One is not better than the other: They both work. Most people don't say, 'I need to start living healthy' Weightloss is not synonymous to healthy lifestyle and vise versa, so why do we use it interchangeably? #TransformationTuesday 😯 These photos were taken just over 3 years apart. - A few days ago, someone asked me about weight loss surgery. Here is what I said to that person: Having gastric sleeve was the best decision of my life, but please be prepared for a wild ride. This journey is not easy, there are many, many days that you may regret everything. The most important thing to remember is to remember why you started. Realize that our health comes first and that you deserve a happy and healthy life. I don’t regret any surgeries (gastric sleeve / loose skin removal). It’s just been a lot of hard work. I struggle to eat right and exercise every single day, and I will for the rest of my life. If you follow everything your doctor recommends, and you take good care of your body, you will succeed. You will do great, and I wish you all of the luck in the world! - It is up to us to take care of ourselves and when we make the conscious decision to become healthy, that is where success lies. #transformationtuesday I remember the day on the left like it was yesterday. I was down exactly 40lbs the day after Thanksgiving in 2017, and was so excited that I asked my family to go on a little nature walk in one of our state parks since it was free admission that day. I was finally starting to physically feel better after years of my weight making it painful just to walk or stand for more than 5 minutes, so I was embracing every chance I could get to exercise my new “freedom” of just being able to comfortably move! . Fast forward to the day on the right this last Sunday and I am down 220lbs. I was on one of my many 3+ mile nature walks to make sure I hit my non-scale step goal I made. I was having so much fun I decided to have a tree branch assist me in a mini photo shoot in the woods.🌲😂 . Being able to live my life and experience nature the way I truly have always loved and wanted to is one of my favorite things to come out of my weight loss! Don’t have a photographer? Никогаш не сум сонувал да пораснам, па да почнам да работам, да се спастрам со убава работичка, фамилија да одиме на одмор и така да си живееме. 🙃 Да не ме разбере некој погрешно, тоа е дел од мојот план за животот, тоа е главна работа но не и единствена. 'Што да си живееме?' Што значи тоа? Ние сме овде, туку така? Ова се што е околу нас е од нигде никаде? ... Да не се задржуваме на тоа... Знам, во тоа сум многу сигурен дека сум овде со една голема мисија, не бесцелно да денгубам. -Имам мисија да ѝм помагам на луѓето да си го поедностават животот, да се среќни и да си го постигнат тоа што сакаат! Најубаво се чувствувам кога луѓето го разбираат она што јас го носам во себе и се трудам да го пренесам до секого од нив. Но, исто така ми е мило и кога ќе видам некој што порано беше будалест и се смеел на мои постапки во врска со тоа, а сега ги гледам како ги прават истите работи. Тоа е победа, победа за двајцата и тоа мене ме плени и ми кажува дека сум на вистинскиот пат. . 😎

Who always finds figuring out what to eat an absolute pain! I have found that since I prep my week with what I want to eat, the second greatest thing about this is also that I now know what the rest of the family are eating too, so it kills two birds with one stone! Now the thought of food prepping can sound, to be fair, dull and laborious, but to be fair, so can going through the pain of it everyday now knowing! So here are 3 quick tips: - Find a day to prep – Sunday is my day, but do what suits you - Pre-cook / pre-prepare as much as you can and refrigerate or freeze - Prepare go to snacks that are easy to grab in the fridge / cupboards so you are not too lured to the bad foods!
